After being active with sports most of my life my physical activity started to slowly decline. Once I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes in 2013 I know I had to change two things...diet and exercise!! Diet was the easier of the two but now I have conquered both.

 

I really have never committed to a workout plan or a gym on a consistent basis, but low and behold along came Move Fitness Studio where I have been a member since January 2019. The results have been amazing!! I have averaged 2-3 workouts a week starting with Bungee classes and moving into the HIIT and Boot Camp formats shortly thereafter.

 

 

My main goal with my fitness journey has nothing to do with weight loss and all to do with my long term health and fighting Diabetes.  The added strength from the weight training along with my energy level have increased on a daily basis and now just the simplest of tasks around the house that require any strength have become so much easier.

 

I have dropped my A1C 3 points since starting at MOVE Fitness!!  The A1C is a test result that reflects your average blood sugar level for the past 6 months. Next blood draw is in December as I can't wait to see the results again!!

After years of procrastination, I decided that I needed to change my exercise regimen or lack of! I took a baby step and toured a gym....well, it was very intimidating and a bit scary in my eyes so that wasn't happening. Fast forward a few months to MOVE Fitness Studio's open house....."ok, I think I can try this place." I joined shortly after but it took me another month to attend my first class.....1st boot camp ever! I was winded after walking up the stairs before class even started....I had to take a bathroom break in the middle of class (just to catch my breath)

 

My goal at that time was to go to Saturday morning class...one class a week. Remember the intimidating, scary feeling I had on the other gym's tour....well, not at MOVE!! Everyone was welcoming...my one class a week plan went flying out the door as I soon loved attending classes. (If my schedule allows, I'll go every day). I never thought I would enjoy working out! I have lost 8.5 total inches and 10.5 pounds...and gained strength, confidence, pride, and friends. I have become more mindful of my food portions but didn't change what I eat.

 

The physical and mental challenges of regular workouts are what I did expect when starting a regular fitness routine. What I didn't expect were the friendships and encouragement from other members. It truly is a fun atmosphere!!

After letting everyday life take over, I knew that I needed to get back into a routine of going to the gym. The thought of going to a crowded gym, spending a ½ hour on the treadmill or elliptical, and maybe a few reps with the weights or machines, just didn’t motivate me.  One day this ad popped up on my Instagram account for Move Fitness Studio, and after reading about it, I thought why not. The rest is history. I love the fact that I can show up for class and know I will get a great work out and that I don’t have to plan what I am going to do. Brandon is very passionate about what he does and truly cares about his clients. He is always watching to make sure you are using the correct form to get the full benefit from each exercise. He always motivates you to give it your all and has helped me push myself further than I thought possible. It has only been 6 weeks, but I can already tell that I am gaining strength, not to mention how much more energized I feel.  I can honestly say that this is something I feel I can stick with for the long haul!

I have always been very active with sports growing up. Now that I am out of school I find it harder and harder to find the motivation to go to the gym or even workout. I heard about move fitness studio and decided to give it a try. I loved it! It made working out fun again. The personal attention and group classes made me instantly feel comfortable. I have always enjoyed an active lifestyle, but a nagging hip injury was slowing me down. I also believed my capabilities were limited due to age and injury. With the effects of becoming increasingly sedentary, came the extra pounds and poor self-esteem. Knowing I needed to make a change, I turned to MOVE Fitness Studio. The first few weeks were humbling, hard to believe what poor shape I was in and I had a fear my hip might get worse. Brandon and the staff at MOVE were nothing but positive, assistive, and helped me make modifications for my abilities. Now, 2 months later, it is hard to believe the changes that have happened to not only my body, but to my mind also. My fitness and strength has improved, I have shed the pounds, but most importantly I feel healthy and capable. Amazingly, my hip is at its best in years too! I owe this transformation to my own diligence and commitment, but know I could not have done it without the professional skills and support of Brandon and MOVE Fitness Studio. Lastly, I have made friends along the way and plan to continue to enjoy the camaraderie and encouragement that is embedded in the studio.

I was committed to gym time and a running schedule, but with the passing of my dad and life in general I fell off the healthy lifestyle. But for me to get back to that lifestyle I needed a place that would challenge, hold me accountable, and be FUN! MOVE Fitness Studio has multiple classes and times that fit my schedule which helps hold me accountable, and I can even still find time for my running schedule. Even in a class setting the staff is always checking my form, trust me, my form was not always correct which does not deliver the same results. The staff even helps with nutrition which can be complicated at times, but they make it very simple. MOVE Fitness Studio is friendly, not your typical gym atmosphere which makes it a fun place. I would highly recommend MOVE Fitness Studio for anyone looking to start that healthy lifestyle! I know because I joined and I'm seeing the results of living a healthy lifestyle again!
